Ocean View Forest Reserve and Guest Farm, Komga
Located about 65km from East London, this pet-friendly camping spot is a natural heritage site with a picturesque view of the sea. There are many nearby hiking trails to try out, as well as easy access to great walks for you and your four-legged companion to enjoy. There are also three beaches within short driving distance. It is recommended that you call beforehand to make necessary arrangements.

Klondyke Cherry Farm, Ceres
Despite the cherry season only lasting from November until the first week of January, this working Cherry, Apple and Pear farm also serves as a wonderfully serene and scenic pet-friendly camping spot. With convenient access to walks for you and your dog to enjoy. Owners are requested to bring their own dog beds and bowls, and consideration must also be given to resident dogs, cats and farm animals.

River Destiny Lodge, Colesberg
Situated on the banks of the Orange River, this rustic, pet-friendly camping ground is the perfect place to spend a couple of evenings relaxing. The lodge caters to both caravaners as well as campers and offers walks, hikes, fishing, birding and canoeing. All pets are welcome.
Price: R200 per site, R50 per person per night (maximum of six people per site).
Pets are charged according to size: R40 small or R50 medium and large-sized pets.

Dragon’s Peak Mountain Resort
Nestled in the exquisite Drakensburg Champagne Mountain Range lies this lovely, thousand-acre estate. The resort provides beautifully shady, grassed and paved caravan and camping sites with electrical points and three ablution facilities. Although, dogs must be kept under strict supervision, you can enjoy leisurely strolls with your four-legged companions around the estate or try some hiking or mountain bike trails for a challenge.
They charges R95.00 per dog per night with a maximum of 2 dogs per site. Pensioners who visit on the monthly tariff will be charged R450.00 per dog per month.

Thabaphaswa Mountain Sanctuary
Idyllic and remote, this bushveld retreat is an adventure seeker’s dream. Pets can roam freely in safety and join you in a variety of experiences such as trail running, hiking, mountain biking and swimming in farm dams to cool off with your companion during summer. In addition, they have wheelchair friendly facilities and most veld paths are wheelchair accessible. All camping areas have hot showers and reed-enclosed toilets. There are fire pits, braai grids, water taps and dishwashing facilities.

Riverrun Resort Family Campsite
Set against leafy mountains on the banks of the Vaal River, this laid-back, pet friendly resort is 55 km from the town of Parys and offers a camp site as well as other accommodation. A vast lawn includes a picnic area, outdoor pools and plenty of space to roam with your pet. Activities such as fishing, game walks, river tubing, volleyball and table tennis are also available.

Adventures on offer for you and your four-legged companion include: fly fishing, game viewing, hiking and mountain biking. Camping is one of the accommodation options on offer and you’re required to bring your dog’s own bedding, food bowls and leash (you’re welcome to walk them off leash but keep it with you just in case).
